The
Stowe Police Department would like to remind everyone who walks their dogs on the Town Recreation Path that the dogs must
be on a leash. The Recreation Path is busy with a variety
of users. Keeping your dog on a leash promotes
the general safety and well-being for everyone who uses the Town Recreation Path.
Town of Stowe, Municipal Code, Chapter 2, ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE:
Article IV, Dog Control Regulations, Section IV.3
Dogs not on their owner’s premises must be secured to a competent and
responsible attendant by a leash of no more than six feet in length at all times while (a) on the paved Stowe Recreation Path,
(b)( in a public parking lot, or (c) Memorial Park, (d) Cemetery Road, (e) on any other public grounds upon order of the Selectboard.

Section V.1
A civil penalty of one hundred dollars ($100.00) may be imposed for the initial violation and additional penalty for
subsequent offenses. The waiver fee shall be set at fifty dollars ($50.00) for the first offense and additional fee
for subsequent offenses.
