Reporting Crime
No police department can perform its duties without the support of citizens. This partnership between law
enforcement officers and individuals helps ensure a safe community for all. Any information is welcome
because sometimes even tiny details can lead to the solution of difficult or complex cases.
*A perfect example of this "partnership" occurred
about a year ago when Stowe had some home invasions. An astute citizen noticed an unfamiliar vehicle late at night in
a neighbor's driveway and wrote down the plate number. Thanks to this "tiny detail" Stowe Police officers
were able to do an investigation and apprehend the suspects. Without this citizen's help, these home invasions would
most likely not have been solved.*
Citizens can report a crime or contact the Stowe Police Department in
