Stowe Police Officers Arrest Stowe Hollow Burglars
On
the night of January 17, 2009 Stowe police officers arrested two burglars who are charged with breaking into a Stowe
Hollow home. They were caught while driving their truck on Upper Hollow Road. Officers tracked
the suspects through the Hollow, catching up to them by following the tracks they left as they entered the driveways
of additional homes. It is suspected that they were driving into the driveways while looking for additional
burglary targets. The couple admitted to using a stolen key to enter the home. They are charged
with stealing electronics, tools and power tools. One suspect was also charged with possession of marijuana. The
second suspect was also charged with driving without a license.
Stowe Police Officers Capture Retail Theft Ring
On January 14,
2009 officers of the Stowe Police Department arrested and charged two suspects in retail thefts from both Boots 'n
Boards and AJ's Ski Shop. The suspects were arrested with nearly $2,000 worth of jackets. In addition, they
are charged with stealing cash from one of the registers. Responding to a call from one of the business owners,
officers tracked the individuals and one was arrested following a foot chase. Both suspects have extensive criminal records.
Two additional suspects were not charged.
